Belarusian Woman Caught Trying to Exchange Fake British Pounds
A bank in Bobruisk, Belarus noticed signs of forgery on a British pound note presented by a local resident. The teller pressed the alarm button and the note was confiscated for expert examination.
The experts found that the note was printed on an inkjet printer and had a fake security hologram and relief. The 45-year-old woman claimed she knew nothing about the forgery, saying her husband brought the currency back from the UK where it was used to pay his salary.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the production of counterfeit banknotes.
