BetaShares Japan Currency Hedged ETF: Access to Japan's Export Giants without Currency Risk
The BetaShares Japan Currency Hedged ETF (HJPN) offers Australian investors access to Japanese exporter companies without the risk of currency fluctuations. HJPN tracks the S&P Japan Exporters Hedged NR AUD index, which focuses on cyclically sensitive industrial and technology export businesses.
The fund holds 140 companies, making it one of the most diversified funds reviewed. Toyota Motor, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and Tokyo Electron are the top three holdings, accounting for 17% of total assets. The sector allocation is dominated by industrials (27.75%) and technology (24.28%), reflecting Japan's manufacturing and semiconductor equipment strengths.
HJPN has grown to A$315.81 million in Assets under management since its admission to the ASX on May 12, 2016. The fund manages a turnover ratio of 125.75%, reflecting active index rebalancing. HJPN distributes semi-annually, with a final dividend of A$1.803 per unit for the financial year ending June 2026.
