Türkiye's BIST 100 index surged at the opening bell on Monday, kicking off the session at 12,373.11 points. This marked a 0.84% gain, or 102.93 points, extending the upward momentum from Friday's close. The previous session had ended with the index up 0.17% at 12,270.18 points, supported by a daily trading volume of 124.8 billion liras ($2.54 billion).
In currency markets, the Turkish lira showed mixed movements as of 9:50 am local time (0650 GMT). It traded at 49.1620 against the US dollar, 55.0100 against the euro, and 64.9990 against the British pound. Meanwhile, commodities saw notable shifts, with gold priced at $4,151.05 per ounce and Brent crude futures at $101.54 per barrel as investors reacted to the morning's market openings.
