Bitcoin Edges Lower Amid Interest Rate Hopes and Regulatory Uncertainty
Bitcoin's price slipped on Wednesday as investors awaited the US interest rate decision and grappled with the stalled Clarity Act, a bill aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency market. The bill had been under consideration for over a year but was unable to pass due to political disagreements.
The CME FedWatch Tool showed futures markets pricing in a 92% probability of a quarter-point rate hike ahead of today's Federal Reserve decision.
Bitcoin's price changed by $136.85, or 0.18%, to $75,946.75. Ethereum and XRP also saw minor changes, with prices down 2.59 USD (0.11%) and up 0.0042 USD (0.33%), respectively.
