This amendment introduces closed-ended lending vaults and cash-basis accounting, requiring over 80% support from trusted validators to activate. Meanwhile, the XRP Ledger saw significant activity, processing over 900 million transactions in a single day on October 1.
Shiba Inu closed September with its best monthly performance of 2026, gaining 13.5%. The token started the month near $0.00000507 and peaked close to $0.00000625. Additionally, SHIB recorded a daily golden cross on October 2, marking the first such signal in nearly two years, and reached 1,693,365 on-chain holders during September.
The SEC and CFTC moved ahead with separate crypto rulemaking efforts after the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act stalled. The SEC proposed a new digital-asset custody framework and continued public hearings on Regulation Crypto Assets through October 20. Meanwhile, CFTC Chairman Michael Selig stated the agency was using existing authority to shape crypto market structure.
