Blue Owl Redemptions Halted Amid Liquidity Crunch Fears
Blue Owl Capital has halted redemptions from its inaugural private retail debt fund indefinitely, citing weakness in direct lending and software-related investments. The move follows the company's fourth-quarter earnings, which showed investment income of $447.75 million and adjusted net investment income of $0.36 per share.
In response to the news, Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX and chief investment officer at the Maelstrom Fund, warned that the Federal Reserve may be forced to print more money soon due to rising liquidity stress in financial markets.
'Warm up that printer, Powell,' Hayes wrote on X. He believes that as the crisis deepens, the Fed will need to expand liquidity to stabilize the system, which tends to boost risk assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
