BoE Decision Looms as UK Inflation Surges Past Target
UK inflation rose to 3.1% in August, exceeding market expectations and remaining above the Bank of England's 2% target.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that prices increased by 0.5% during the month, compared to 0.3% in July.
Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, held steady at 2.6%.
Markets anticipate the Bank of England to maintain interest rates at 3.75%, with some traders pricing possible hikes later on.
This could lead to higher bond yields and increased pressure on risk assets, including cryptocurrencies, DeFi tokens, CEX/DEX trading activity, fundraising, and token launch sentiment.
