BoE Decision Sparks Sterling Softness
The Bank of England's decision to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75% has led to a weakening of the British Pound, according to Danske Bank.
The BoE's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted 6-3 in favor of maintaining the current rate, with Pill, Greene, and Mann dissenting from the majority.
The decision was seen as broadly in line with expectations, but the hawkish market pricing going into the meeting led to some GBP weakness and lower rates.
The MPC acknowledged that upside risks to inflation have increased since July, but also stressed the high level of uncertainty surrounding the outlook.
