The Bank of England has maintained interest rates at 3.75% despite concerns over inflationary pressures resulting from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

On September 17, 2026, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to leave the rate unchanged, with six members voting in favor of no change. This decision comes after a split vote at the previous meeting in July.

The MPC warned that if inflationary pressures intensify due to the conflict, another hike may be necessary. However, the current rate remains steady for now.
