BoE Keeps Interest Rate Steady at 3.75% Amid Energy Price Concerns
The Bank of England (BoE) has maintained its key interest rate at 3.75%, the lowest since June 2023, despite rising energy prices and increasing concerns about inflation.
According to a decision made by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), led by Governor Andrew Bailey, the rate will remain unchanged for now. The move aligns with economists' expectations.
The MPC voted 6-3 to maintain the bank rate at 3.75%, indicating some dissenting views within the committee regarding further action to combat inflation.
