BoE Keeps Rates Steady Amid Rising Inflation Fears
The Bank of England has kept its main interest rate at 3.75%, despite higher inflation, but warned it may need to raise rates if energy prices persist.
UK CPI inflation rose to a five-month high of 3.1% in August and is expected to rise further over the coming quarters.
The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee voted 6-3 to keep rates at 3.75%, with three members voting for a 0.25 percentage point increase to 4%.
