BoE Set for Narrow Rate Hold Amid Energy Price Concerns
Berenberg, a German bank, believes that the Bank of England (BoE) will hold its benchmark interest rate at 3.75% on Thursday by a narrow margin of 5-4 votes.
This decision would keep alive the possibility of a November rate hike as energy costs continue to rise.
Berenberg argues that even with rising energy prices, new wage gains and price hikes are still unlikely, allowing the BoE to pause its hiking cycle for now.
However, analysts expect policymakers to signal their commitment to keeping borrowing conditions tight enough to combat inflation.
