BoJ Ponders Faster Rate Hikes as Inflation Concerns Grow
The Bank of Japan's monetary policy meeting last month saw policymakers express concern over rising prices after increasing its benchmark interest rate to 1.25 percent.
This move, which is the highest level in 31 years, has sparked speculation about another potential increase as soon as this month.
According to records from the central bank's meeting on September 17-18, multiple policy board members voiced their worries about inflation running above the Bank of Japan's 2 percent target.
Some members argued that if signs of broadening price pressures emerge, the central bank would have no choice but to quicken the pace of rate hikes.
