BOJ Rate Check Fuels Intervention Fears in USD/JPY
The USD/JPY pair has seen its largest weekly advance since October 2025, rising more than five big figures from earlier lows. This rebound comes on the heels of a hawkish Federal Reserve and a tough bar for the Bank of Japan to clear.
However, traders are now bracing themselves for renewed intervention activity in the week ahead. A suspected rate check by Japanese authorities on Friday will heighten the risk of central bank involvement, particularly early in the week.
