BOJ Rate Hike Odds Rise with Consecutive Meetings Possibility

Kazuo Momma, a former executive director in charge of monetary policy at the Bank of Japan (BOJ), believes that there is a reasonable chance the BOJ will raise its benchmark rate for a second consecutive month in October.

Momma stated that while the basic pace may be to raise rates every three months, there's also a 20% to 30% possibility of consecutive meetings without a rate change. This prediction comes as a surprise, given many economists' expectations.
