BOJ Survey: Japan's Business Sentiment Improves for Sixth Straight Quarter
The Bank of Japan's quarterly 'tankan' survey has given a positive reading on Japan's economy, showing large manufacturers' sentiment rose to 24 from 22.
Despite widespread challenges, including soaring oil prices and a weak yen, the key indicator of business sentiment has been improving for the sixth quarter straight.
The central bank raised its benchmark interest rate twice this year, in June and September, to 1.25%, a three-decade high, in an effort to normalize monetary policy.
