Brent Oil Tops $100 Mark Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
Asian stocks fell on Thursday as oil prices remained above $100 per barrel due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, making investors nervous about upcoming US inflation data.
The Brent crude futures price eased to $101.11 per barrel after breaking through the psychological $100 mark for the first time since July.
Nick Twidale, chief market strategist at ATFX Global, said that traders who held off in hopes of a Middle East peace deal may now 'hit the trigger as the realities of a longer conflict kick in.'
