Brokers Split on Bank Rate Decision Ahead of Key Meeting
Mortgage professionals at the Mortgage Adviser Expo Manchester have expressed mixed views on whether the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee will increase interest rates in November.
The attendees were asked for their predictions, and while 55% think the MPC will raise interest rates, 42.5% expect a hold, with rate rises instead coming in 2027.
This is despite markets pricing in a rise to 4% later this year and two further increases in 2027. The Bank of England's MPC voted 6-3 to hold Bank Rate at 3.75% in its latest meeting last week, the sixth consecutive hold.
