Bulgaria's Inflation Rate Hits 5-Year High
Bulgaria's inflation rate accelerated to 5.1% in August from 4.4% in July, according to Eurostat's final estimate.
This leaves Bulgaria among the eurozone and European Union countries with the highest inflation rates for another month.
The country is joined by only three other countries that recorded higher annual inflation: Romania at 6.3%, Lithuania at 5.6%, and Cyprus at 5.2%.
In contrast, Sweden had the lowest annual inflation in the EU at just 0.3%, followed by Estonia with 1.3% and the Czech Republic with 1.5%.
