CAD Slightly Softens Amid Crude Oil Price Decline
The Canadian dollar experienced a slight decline on Wednesday morning due to losses in crude oil. At 9:23 am CDT, the CAD was trading at US$0.7175 or US$1=C$1.3937, slightly lower than Tuesday's close of US$0.7185 or US$1=C$1.3917.
The decline in crude oil prices weighed on the energy-linked currency. West Texas Intermediate fell by 1.8% to US$103.92 per barrel, a decrease from nearby highs.
The TSX also saw an increase of 42.14 points, trading at 35,624.21 at 9:23 CDT.
