CADD Stablecoin Expands to Solana Blockchain
Tetra Digital Group has launched its Canadian-dollar stablecoin CADD on the Solana blockchain, expanding its availability beyond Ethereum and other networks. The rollout follows the token's initial deployment in 2026.
CADD is designed to maintain a 1:1 relationship with Canadian dollars held as reserves, making it an attractive option for applications that need to settle and transfer CAD-denominated value onchain.
The company describes CADD as the first Canadian-dollar stablecoin issued by a regulated financial institution. While it doesn't need to compete with USDT globally to matter, its success will depend on whether it makes moving Canadian dollars onchain useful enough for businesses to stop routing everything through U.S. dollar stablecoins first.
Tetra warned users that copycat CADD tokens were appearing on the permissionless network and published the official mint address after the Solana launch, highlighting the practical problem of verifying regulated assets on public blockchains.
