Canada Invests $193,200 to Connect Young People with Green Career Opportunities Across Atlantic Canada

The Government of Canada is investing $193,200 in The Gaia Project to expand its Green Experts initiative across Atlantic Canada. This investment will help connect over 4,700 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 with local professionals, employers, and career pathways.

The initiative aims to build and retain the region's future workforce by showing young people that meaningful and diverse career opportunities exist close to home. Green Experts is a career exploration program that connects youth with professionals and employers working across Atlantic Canada's evolving green economy.

Since 2020, the Green Experts program has engaged over 5,000 youth across New Brunswick through classroom panels, career events, and employer placements. The initiative will launch in Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador, marking its first expansion beyond New Brunswick.

Green Experts are volunteers from diverse industries and career backgrounds who share their experiences with young people. Anyone can become a Green Expert by volunteering their time to talk about their work and help youth understand the many ways they can contribute to Atlantic Canada's future.
