Canada Invests in Nova Scotia's Seafood Industry with $135,000 Grant
Tourism is a significant driver of Canada's economy, supporting businesses and creating jobs. In Nova Scotia, the Government of Canada is investing in new experiences to create more reasons for visitors to stay longer and connect with the province's cultures.
Kody Blois, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and MP for Kings-Hants, announced federal support to Devour! Studios to develop the Nova Scotia Seafood Academy. The project received $135,000 in funding.
The Nova Scotia Seafood Academy is a three-day hands-on culinary experience that teaches visitors about Nova Scotia seafood preparation, sustainable sourcing, local products, and the stories behind the province's seafood sector. The program has already been piloted in Wolfville, creating new experiences that can be packaged with local accommodations, restaurants, and other businesses.
