Canada Repurposes Canadarm3 Investment for Artemis Lunar Program
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is repurposing its investment in Canadarm3 to support lunar exploration, driven by Canada's goal of becoming a strong and competitive player in the global economy.
This decision builds on technologies and expertise gained through the Canadarm3 project, which will be adapted for complex lunar operations as part of the Artemis program.
The CSA is collaborating with MDA Space to adapt its work and ensure that Canadian robotics systems play a critical role in enabling sustained lunar operations.
According to Minister Mélanie Joly, 'Space exploration is essential to Canada's economic future. It drives innovation, creates high-value jobs, attracts investment, and strengthens the industries and technologies that keep us competitive.'
