Canada's Coffee Industry Serves Up $34.7 Billion Economic Boost
Canada's coffee industry is a significant contributor to the country's economy. According to new research from the Coffee Association of Canada (CAC), the industry generates $34.7 billion in total economic output, supports nearly 215,000 jobs, and generates more than $11 billion in wages.
Coffee remains a daily ritual for Canadians, with 71% of them drinking coffee the previous day in 2025, making it the country's most-consumed beverage after tap water. The industry's economic impact extends beyond just direct employment and revenue, as its supply chain and household spending related to industry wages also contribute to its overall economic activity.
The CAC President, Robert Carter, noted that 'coffee is a small, everyday treat for many Canadians, but the industry behind that cup has a significant economic footprint.' The coffee industry supports jobs and businesses across the country, including some companies that have been around for more than 100 years.
