Canada's Corporate Profit Soars to Record High Amid Global Economic Turmoil
Canadian corporate profit has hit an all-time high of $677.0 billion in 2025, surpassing its previous record in 2022.
This surge is largely due to higher commodity prices and complex supply chains, which have driven up the operating income percentage of many businesses to above 10% for the first time since 2021.
However, this rise in corporate profit has been accompanied by a decline in corporate tax rates, limiting the contribution of these gains to local communities and straining the broader economy.
