Canada's Economy Booms with 3.4% Growth in Second Quarter

The Canadian economy is showing signs of robust growth, with a preliminary estimate suggesting real gross domestic product expanded at an annualized rate of 3.4% between April and June.

This growth is largely attributed to the surging energy production, particularly in the oil industry, which had its highest crude production volume for the month of May since at least 2016.

The Bank of Canada's July monetary policy report projected a growth rate of 2.5% in the second quarter, but this estimate is based on expenditure measures.

Experts are cautious about the sustainability of this rebound, citing concerns over US tariffs and weaker population growth.
