Canada's Economy Slows to 0.2% Growth in August
The Canadian economy has slowed down in its third quarter after experiencing a surge between April and June. According to Statistics Canada's preliminary estimate, real gross domestic product is expected to grow by only 0.2% in August. The growth was largely driven by increases in the mining and quarrying sector.
However, these gains were partially offset by decreases in oil and gas extraction, which dampened overall economic activity. This slowdown comes after a strong showing in the previous two quarters, where GDP saw significant growth.
