Canada's Pre-Budget Consultations Kick Off in Saskatchewan
The Canadian government has begun its consultation tour ahead of Budget 2026, making a stop in Saskatchewan. Wayne Long, Secretary of State and Liberal MP, is currently in Saskatoon gathering feedback from locals on how to allocate tax dollars.
Long emphasized the importance of infrastructure investments, defense spending, and support for the agriculture sector, which employs more people per capita than any other industry in Canada.
The government aims to ensure that every cent in the budget is spent on programs that benefit Canadians, boost the economy, and promote diversification. Long stressed the need for a healthy economy, citing concerns about the country's current trade relationship with the United States.
