Canada's Second-Longest Train Journey Offers Luxurious Travel Options

Canada is home to the second-longest train journey in the world, covering over 4,500 kilometers. The Canadian, operated by Via Rail, takes passengers on a four-day journey from Vancouver to Toronto or vice versa.

The trip passes through five provinces and offers breathtaking views of Western Canada's stunning landscapes. Travelers can choose from three classes: Economy, Sleeper Plus, and Prestige.

Economy Class is the most affordable option, with prices starting at $514 for a one-way ticket in Summer 2026 or Winter 2027. It includes access to the Skyline car, where passengers can purchase meals and snacks, as well as reclining seats with plenty of leg room.

Sleeper Plus Class offers more luxurious amenities, including complimentary meal service, private washrooms, and a personal concierge. Prices for this class start at $1,750 in Summer 2026 and $1,083 in Winter 2027.

Prestige Class is the most expensive option, with prices starting at $7,592 in Summer 2026 and $6,040 in Winter 2027. It features a private cabin with a mini bar, an L-shaped leather couch that transforms into a bed, and heated floors and walls.
