Canada's Trade Tensions with US Are Just a Sideshow

The Trump administration's willingness to take cheap shots at Canada is concerning, especially given their track record of breaking promises. Prime Minister Mark Carney was right to walk away from the deal when they tried to add untenable conditions, including restrictions on trade agreements with other countries.

It's clear that the US will not treat us as an equal partner in trade negotiations, and we need to take steps to diversify our export base and reduce our dependence on the US market.
