The Canadian dollar weakened slightly, trading at 70.14 cents US, down from 70.29 cents US the previous day. Meanwhile, the November crude oil contract rose eight cents US to $89.52 per barrel. In contrast, the December gold contract fell sharply, losing $56.70 to $4,130.40 an ounce.
