Canadian Banks Team Up for Secure Tokenized Deposits
Six major Canadian banks are collaborating on a project to develop a secure tokenized deposit solution in Canadian dollars. This initiative aims to stay competitive and secure in an evolving digital money landscape.
The participating banks, including Bank of Montreal (BMO), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), National Bank of Canada (NBC), Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), The Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank), and TD Bank Group (TD), seek to create a faster, more efficient, and programmable payment system for their customers.
The first phase of the project focuses on moving tokenized deposits efficiently across Canadian financial institutions, with a long-term goal of connecting with other emerging digital assets initiatives.
