Canadian Consumer Confidence Reaches New High Amid Ongoing Economic Uncertainty
The Bloomberg Nanos Canadian Confidence Index (BNCCI) has reached its highest reading since February at 52.55, despite ongoing concerns about a weakening economy and falling property values.
This is according to new data from Bloomberg Nanos, which shows that Canadians' concerns about their personal finances and job security are gradually easing.
However, the index remains well below its long-run average of 54.71 since 2008, averaging only 50.81 so far in 2026.
The Pocketbook Index, which tracks personal finances and job security, climbed to 54.84, while the Expectations Index, based on views of the broader economy and real estate prices, registered barely above the neutral threshold of 50 at 50.27.
