Canadian Dollar Weighed Down by Crude Oil Price Decline
The Canadian dollar softened slightly against its US counterpart on Monday morning, trading at US$0.7087 or C$1=US$1.4110.
This change comes after a pause in fighting between the US and Iran over the weekend weighed heavily on crude oil prices, affecting Canada's energy-linked currency.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price decreased by 5.6% to US$84.29 per barrel, contributing to the pressure on the Canadian dollar.
