Central Bank Leaders Convene in Istanbul for Economic Forum
The Istanbul Economic Forum kicks off on Thursday, bringing together central bank leaders and policymakers from around the world. Organized by the Turkish Central Bank (CBRT), the two-day event will tackle pressing global economic challenges and foster international cooperation. Among the key attendees are US Federal Reserve Board member Christopher Waller, Bank of England (BoE) Governor Andrew Bailey, and CBRT Governor Fatih Karahan.
The forum will feature discussions on topics such as the fragmented global economy, monetary policy in uncertain times, debt dynamics, and the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation on macroeconomic policy. With two ministers, 16 central bank governors, and eight deputy central bankers in attendance, the event aims to establish itself as a leading platform for shaping the future of the global economy.
All sessions of the Istanbul Economic Forum will be livestreamed, allowing a broader audience to engage with the discussions. Interested viewers can access the livestreams at istanbulef.org/eng/ief-2026.
