CFTC Report Reveals Mixed Trends in Currency and Financial Futures
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has released its Commitments of Traders report for August 4. The data shows mixed movements in currency futures, with some assets experiencing significant gains and others suffering declines.
The Mexican Peso recorded the largest percentage gain among major currencies, with open interest rising by 8.2% to 217,220 contracts from 200,776 contracts.
Other notable gains were seen in the Australian Dollar and DJIA Consolidated, which increased by 4.7% and 12.1%, respectively. In contrast, the British Pound saw a decline of 7.8% in open interest, while the Brazilian Real fell by 18.2%.
Among Treasury futures, the 5-Year Treasury posted the largest gain, rising by 3.0% to 6,380,428 contracts.
