Cilento Appointed to RBA Monetary Policy Board
Australia's central bank has appointed Melinda Cilento to its influential monetary policy board, replacing Ian Harper in September.
Cilento, chief executive of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia and former chief economist at the Business Council of Australia, brings broad expertise and experience to her new role.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers said Cilento was chosen from a shortlist compiled by RBA governor Michele Bullock after a thorough selection process. The appointment aims to ensure the board has the right mix of skills and perspectives.
