Circle Braces for Back-to-Back Catalysts as Senate Votes and Fed Decides

Circle is facing back-to-back catalysts this week as the Senate votes on the CLARITY Act and the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision.

The Senate is set to vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, also known as the CLARITY Act, on Tuesday afternoon. The bill aims to regulate digital assets, but it remains unclear if it will pass. If it does not, sponsors will have to bring the legislation back after the midterms and push the market structure framework to 2027.

Circle makes most of its revenue from interest earned on its reserves, which currently stand at around $667 million. This income is sensitive to the Fed's policy, as a rate hike could increase Circle's earnings by about $2.5 million for every billion dollars in reserves.

Circle also plans to launch its Arc blockchain on Wednesday, which will provide an alternative revenue stream for the company. The Founding validators of the blockchain include BlackRock, Mastercard, Visa, and DTCC.
