CMA Warns Kenyans Against Investing in Unlawful Platforms
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in Kenya has issued a warning to citizens against investing in 15 platforms that are operating unlawfully and soliciting money fraudulently.
The regulator stated that these entities are offering investment services without the proper licenses and approvals, and are currently under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), along with other law enforcement agencies.
Some of the platforms in question have been accused of promoting cryptocurrency-related investment opportunities, while others market forex trading and Money Market Funds (MMFs).
CMA has published a list of the 15 flagged platforms on its official website and social media accounts, urging citizens to exercise caution when dealing with these entities.
