Coinbase Axes Six Trading Pairs Amid Liquidity Concerns
Coinbase has announced it will suspend six spot trading pairs on August 6, 2024. The affected pairs are LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT.
The tokens involved belong to projects with steady developer activity, including Mina Protocol, Mask Network, and The Graph. However, their euro and pound sterling volumes have struggled to build liquidity.
Coinbase operates on thin margins for many spot pairs, and removal is logical when volume doesn't justify the cost. This cleanup reflects broader market structure trends, where altcoin liquidity has been concentrating in top-tier pairs.
