Colombian Peso Leads Currency Gains as Asia Suffers Energy-Driven Declines
The past year has seen some striking winners and losers in currency markets, with gains and declines approaching 20% against the U.S. dollar.
According to data from Deutsche Bank, the Colombian peso leads all currencies, gaining 19.2% over the past year.
This makes it a notable standout in Latin America, where there's a 38.1 percentage-point gap between Colombia and Argentina.
Six Asian currencies rank among the eight biggest decliners, amid pressure from higher energy import costs.
