Commonwealth Bank of Australia Sets 2026 AGM and Raises Home-Loan Rates
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has set its 2026 annual general meeting for October 14 at 9:30 a.m. Sydney time. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, with shareholders able to attend in person or via a live webcast. Shareholders can also submit questions in advance or appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf. The bank has published all relevant details on its investor-relations website.
In addition to the AGM announcement, CBA revealed a 0.25-percentage-point increase in variable home-loan rates. This decision follows the Reserve Bank of Australia's decision to raise its official cash rate by the same amount. The changes will take effect on October 9, 2026. The bank cited persistent inflation and global uncertainty as reasons for the adjustment.
