Companies Sit on Billions in Tariff Refunds as Consumers Wait for Relief

The Supreme Court's ruling in July to strike down President Donald Trump's Liberation Day tariffs has led to a massive refund of $166 billion collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from 330,000 importers.

However, only 15% of companies plan to lower prices with their refunds, according to a Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta survey.

The largest recipients of these refunds are big retailers like Walmart, Apple, Nike, Target, and Home Depot, who collectively received billions in tariff refunds.

Average Americans will not receive any direct benefits from these refunds, as the refund process is only available to businesses.
