A new poll from Marquette University Law School reveals that Americans' top concern is the cost of living and inflation, with 35% citing it as their most important issue. The economy comes in second at 15%, while the Iran conflict has dropped to its lowest spot in three months, with only 10% considering it a top concern.

The poll also found that since January, cost of living and inflation have remained a top concern for Americans, ranking as either the most important or second most important issue for 56%. This comes at a time when annual inflation dipped from 4.1% in May to 3.7% in June.

The Federal Reserve has chosen to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged for the fifth straight meeting, but three regional Fed presidents dissented, saying they would like to raise rates to combat elevated inflation. Meanwhile, only 28% of Americans describe the nation's economy as being in an excellent or good state.
