Cuba's Informal Currency Market Sees Dollar and Euro Trade at New Heights
The informal currency market in Cuba has seen significant fluctuations this Saturday, September 19, 2026. The U.S. dollar is currently trading at an average of 708 Cuban pesos (CUP), marking a 5 peso increase from the previous session.
The euro also showed a robust performance, with its value rising to 805 CUP, representing a gain of 2 pesos compared to the previous day's rate.
The MLC, or freely convertible currency, is used in state-run stores and has seen a substantial increase of 37.5 pesos from the previous day's value, standing at around 492 CUP.
