Cuba's Informal Currency Market Sees Significant Dollar and Euro Gains
The informal currency market in Cuba has seen significant increases in both the U.S. dollar and euro rates, according to the CiberCuba Exchange Rate.
As of Saturday, October 3, 2026, the dollar jumped to 785 Cuban pesos (CUP), while the euro climbed to 880 CUP.
The dollar's upward momentum has been ongoing, rising from 733 CUP just a week ago and 678 CUP 30 days ago.
The disparity between official and informal rates continues to widen, with the current gap reaching 90 pesos for the dollar and 97 pesos for the euro.
