Currenxie Appoints Eoin Weigel as European Compliance Head

Currenxie, a global financial platform, has appointed Eoin Weigel as its head of compliance and money laundering reporting officer for Europe. This move comes as Currenxie continues to expand its presence in the UK and European Economic Area.

Weigel brings extensive experience in fintech and payments to his new role, having previously held senior positions at PayPal and BlueSnap, including serving on the board of BlueSnap EU, now Payroc.

As head of compliance, Weigel will oversee Currenxie's European regulatory compliance, licensing frameworks, transaction monitoring, and fraud and anti-money laundering operations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining regulatory discipline while scaling in new markets.

The appointment follows the launch of Currenxie's multi-currency business account across the UK and EEA, as well as securing direct SEPA Participant status from the European Payments Council.
