Daiichi Sankyo reported a strong second quarter for fiscal 2026, with its oncology portfolio driving record growth. The company's revenue surpassed 1 trillion yen by mid-year, fueled by the success of its flagship cancer treatments, ENHERTU and DATROWAY. Shares surged 5.21% to $2,754 following the presentation of these results on October 30, 2026.

The quarter saw revenue growth of 19.7% year-over-year to 1,167.2 billion yen, while core operating profit jumped 46.9% to 221.3 billion yen. The oncology business contributed significantly to this growth, with ENHERTU adding 86.4 billion yen and DATROWAY contributing 26.6 billion yen. The company also benefited from alliance-related payments and a weaker yen, which provided a 73.9 billion yen tailwind to revenue.

ENHERTU, the company's HER2-directed antibody-drug conjugate, achieved global sales of 464.5 billion yen, up 45.9% year-over-year. Daiichi Sankyo raised its full-year forecast for ENHERTU to 915.3 billion yen. The drug has established market leadership in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer and secured multiple new approvals. DATROWAY, another key product, saw sales more than triple to 48.3 billion yen, driven by strong growth in the U.S. and Japan.

Beyond product performance, Daiichi Sankyo outlined strategic initiatives to become a global top-five oncology company by 2035. These include an Operational Excellence program targeting 200 billion yen in optimization benefits and a centralized commercialization unit launching in April 2027. The company also highlighted advancements in its clinical pipeline, including promising Phase 3 trial results for ENHERTU in HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer.
