Digital Realty Issues CHF510 Million in Swiss Franc Senior Notes
Digital Realty (DLR) has taken a significant step to strengthen its financial flexibility by issuing Swiss franc senior notes through its subsidiary Digital Constellation B.V. On October 6, 2026, the company sold CHF510 million in senior unsecured Swiss franc notes, with maturities in 2029, 2032, and 2036. The notes carry coupons of 1.6803%, 2.0600%, and 2.4150%, respectively. The proceeds from this issuance are fully guaranteed by Digital Realty and its related subsidiaries.
The transaction, conducted under Regulation S outside the U.S., includes covenants that limit additional indebtedness and require unencumbered asset pools. The funds will be used to refinance revolving credit borrowings, support property acquisitions and development, potentially retire other debt, and finance projects aligned with Digital Realty’s Green Bond Framework and broader growth strategy. The notes rank pari passu with other senior unsecured debt and include standard redemption features and tax gross-up provisions.
The issuance expands Digital Realty’s presence in the Swiss franc bond market and diversifies its investor base. For bondholders, the guarantees from Digital Realty and its key subsidiaries, along with defined events of default, provide additional structural protection and clarify the risk framework around the company’s growing international capital structure.
The most recent analyst rating on DLR stock is a Buy with a $225.00 price target. According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, DLR is a Neutral, driven by solid financial performance and positive earnings call, but offset by weak technical momentum and a challenging valuation profile.
